Our History

Hi my name is Megan and I am the owner and founder of Casting Queen. Now that you know our goals, want to know how this whole shebang started? It all began back in 2020 when I was sick of my boyfriend (now husband) having endless options when it came to fishing apparel while I was stuck with slim pickings in stores and online. As my passion for fishing grew every time I stepped out on the water, I wanted something that showcased my love for the sport while still reflecting my love for bright, fun, and bold style. That’s when the idea of Casting Queens was born. If I was struggling to find apparel that felt like me, I figured other women were feeling the same way too. So, I decided to create it myself.

When I started the brand, I had no idea it would turn into so much more than fishing apparel. What started as a brand quickly became a community — and eventually a true sisterhood. I set out to create products for women who loved to fish, but in return I found a group of like-minded women who shared the same passion for the outdoors and life on the water. Honestly, I had no idea there were so many women out there who loved fishing as much as I did! 

The first five years of business were a complete rollercoaster. There was a lot of trial and error, and plenty of expensive lessons on what not to do as a business owner. Truthfully, I became discouraged at times. Between being a first-time business owner, newly married, and starting a family, life pulled me in many directions. Somewhere along the way, my vision became cloudy and the drive I once had to pursue this dream slowly faded. 

Then came April 2026. I attended a business event for an entirely different venture, but somehow I left with a renewed spark for Casting Queens — a spark I truly thought had disappeared. I realized how deeply I missed this community and the passion behind what I started. I could no longer ignore the fire I still had inside me for this brand and the women behind it. This time, I’m all in. Not just for myself, but for the fishing sisterhood we’ve built together.
